Continuing to set the bar for college placement in Wisconsin, nearly 90% of the 2018 FC Wisconsin Class of 2018 will be moving on to collegiate soccer programs this fall.  With the change last year to teams based on birth year registration, approximately half of each U18/19 team graduates each year, and of the 9 graduating seniors at FC Wisconsin 8 will be moving on to college soccer.  The class will attend 7 different schools and represents 3 of the Power 5 Conferences (Big 10, SEC, Big 12):

• Hailey Farrington-Bentil: Mississippi State University
• Sierra Koch: University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh
• Ali Menard: Davidson University
• Morgynn Michel: Concordia University
• Audrey Poorman: University of Wisconsin - Madison
• Emma Roemer: Creighton University
• Lindsey Weiss: University of Wisconsin - Madison
• Taylor Wiegart: Iowa State University

"We are very proud of the achievements of these players," said Director of Coaching Christian Lavers.  "They have worked very hard, made big commitments to the game for many years, and have earned the rare opportunity to be a collegiate student-athlete." 

Nationally, less than 10% of high school soccer players move on to collegiate soccer, and fewer than 3% move on to Division 1 soccer.  

"Once again, nearly every player that graduates from our club at U18 is moving on to collegiate soccer," said Youth Director Andy Lee.  "Considering the difficulty and odds of becoming a collegiate student-athlete, that is a tremendous accomplishment.  The mission of our club is to help players develop to become collegiate athletes, and this day is always special."

Reflecting the dominance of the ECNL in college placement, more than 1,100 ECNL athletes are celebrating signing day today as they commit to college programs for the fall.
