Seven players from FC Wisconsin were selected to participate in the 2016 ECNL PDP from the ECNL's Midwest Conference held in Madison, WI on February 27 and 28. Top players from Eclipse Select (IL), FC Wisconsin, Sporting Blue Valley (MO), Minnesota Thunder, Sockers FC (IL), St. Louis Scott Gallagher - IL, and St. Louis Scott Gallagher - MO participated in the two-day event at the University of Wisconsin.
Players are selected for ECNL Player Development Programs (PDPs) based on their performances in ECNL matches in the previous months, and are objectively selected by ECNL staff. The Midwest North event is one of two PDPs in the Midwest, with the other event held in Michigan for clubs on the eastern side of the region. This year's PDP events included players born in 2000, 1999, and 1998.
The PDP in Madison included one training session and two matches involving approximately 55 players. The training session helped the players get to know each other, and provided information and instruction regarding the style of play that the staff was looking for in each game. Staff for the event in Madison were Hideki Nakada (Assistant Coach Stanford University), David Nikolic (Assistant Coach Northwestern University), Trey Bradberry (Sockers FC), Andy Lee (FC Wisconsin), and Hayley Siegel (FC Wisconsin).
The FC Wisconsin players that participated in the event were: Christina Barczak (D), Stephanie Franczak (D), Michaela Hoard (F), Taylor Kerwin (M), Maria Nordness (D), Bianca Stubler (D), and Sophia Toscano (M).
