FC Wisconsin – Madison is excited to announce the addition of 2 new staff members for the 2018-19 season.  Drew and Chrissy Watson will be joining Program Director Jacie Lyon to provide a fantastic experience for young players in the Madison area.

Drew Watson, who was a staff member of the club in Madison in the 2015-16 season, will be returning for the 2018-19 season.  Drew is a sports medicine physician and team doctor for the University of Wisconsin, and earned his US Soccer “A” license in 2001.  He coached for multiple clubs in Wisconsin, as well as Wisconsin ODP, in the early 2000s before moving to Texas and coaching in multiple clubs while in medical school.

Chrissy Watson will be joining the club for the first time next season.  Chrissy earned her US Soccer “A” license in 2007, and has a Masters in Sport and Exercise Science.  She previously coached with the Madison 56ers in the early 2000s before moving to Texas and coaching in the South Texas ODP Program.  Chrissy is a former player for both the University of Wisconsin and West Texas A&M University.

What excites me most about FC Wisconsin is that the club provides the opportunity for young players to be exposed to the work ethic, knowledge, and love of the game that it takes to become a great player,” said Chrissy Watson.  “I wish that type of program was available to me when I was a young athlete, and I hope we will help inspire young players to love playing and dream big in these key ages.”

"I am really excited to once again be a part of FC Wisconsin and help develop young soccer players in the Madison area,” said Drew Watson.  “The developmental model at FC Wisconsin is truly unique in the state, and unmatched for teaching the game to aspiring young athletes."

Jacie Lyon, a former All-Big East player at Marquette University will continue as the FC Wisconsin – Madison Program Director in 2018-19.  Jacie joined the club full-time in 2017.

FC Wisconsin – Madison will field teams in the U11, U12, U13, U14, and U15 age groups this fall.  At U13 and above, players will have two options based on their commitment and performance level – the Regional Competitive Program or the ECNL Program.

Tryouts for FC Wisconsin – Madison are done in conjunction with Verona Area Soccer Club, and are on Monday, June 4 and Wednesday, June 6.  For more information on the program, click here.  To sign-up for FREE tryouts, click here.
