FC Wisconsin Eclipse and Fit For 90 have announced a partnership for the 2014-2015 year to implement technology used with some of the world's top teams and players to maximize performance of Wisconsin's aspiring youth players in the Elite Clubs National League.
Fit for 90 provides consulting, periodization and data analysis for top professional and collegiate teams across the United States, including the Chicago Red Stars in the NWSL, Indianapolis Eleven in the NASL, and more than 10 NCAA Division I programs. The technology and methodology developed by Dr. John Cone while working with the Portland Timbers in the MLS helps coaches optimize team training plans with detailed individual information from each player.
FC Wisconsin Eclipse players and staff at the U15-U18 age groups will use the Fit for 90 system during the 2014-2015 season to manage player recovery, and maximize performance and injury prevention. The teams will use the system to track daily recovery, muscle soreness, and the physical load of each training and match day. Information from the technology will allow staff to better plan each session, reduce risk of over-training and muscular injury, and maximize long-term development and performance.
"We are very excited about how the Fit for 90 partnership will help us manage demands on our players throughout the year, and help them continue to build and improve performance throughout the year," said FC Wisconsin Eclipse Director of Coaching Christian Lavers. "I have seen the huge impact of this technology and information at the professional level, and the ability to use a variation of it with youth players will make a huge impact on safety and performance."
"We've integrated our system at nearly every level of the game and seen tremendous results in terms of performance and injury prevention" said John Cone, founder of Fit for 90. "At the youth level, with the amount and variation of growth and maturation of the players, the need to specifically address individuals within the team is perhaps even more important. Our system will deliver this to the staff at FC Wisconsin Eclipse, and help them continue to develop players at the highest youth level in the country."
