ECNL Home Season Concludes Against St. Louis Scott Gallagher

The FC Wisconsin Eclipse teams brought their home ECNL season to an end with a pair of Midwestern Conference games against St. Louis Scott Gallagher - Missouri, and St. Louis Scott Gallagher - Metro on November 17 and 18th.  Saturdya's games were played at Time Warner Cable Stadium at Uihlein Soccer Park, while Sunday's games were hosted at FC Milwaukee Soccer Park.

FC Wisconsin Eclipse finished with 2 wins, 4 ties, and 4 losses in the 10 games (every age group played 1 game Saturday and Sunday).  There were several highlights over the course of the 2 days:

  • The U14 team finished the weekend undefeated, with a 0-0 tie against Missouri and a closely fought 1-0 win against Metro on Sunday.
  • The U18 team claimed a big 2-0 victory on Saturday against Missouri, with Michela Ongaro making a penalty kick save at 0-0, before conceding a late goal to drop Sunday's game against Metro 2-3.  Emma Scaro opened her ECNL goal-scoring with a brace on Sunday.
  • The U16 team came from behind to snatch a 1-1 tie against Missouri, with a great goal from Gaby Dorsey off a clever assist from Allison Jacobsen.
  • The U15 team earned a point in a defensive 0-0 tie against Metro after a disappointing 0-2 result against Missouri the day before.
  • The U17 claimed their first points in the conference in another come-from-behind 1-1 tie against Metro when Grace Murray scored on a break-away.

"The teams have been training hard and non-stop since July 30," said Andy Lee.  "We have seen some tremendous improvement over this three-and-a-half months, and are proud of what the players have done to earn their results so far this season.  As they continue to work through the winter months on technique, the foundation is being laid for a lot of success in the future."

The teams will have a recovery training today, before taking a 6-day "fall break" before finishing the fall season with trips to St. Louis and Minnesota in December.  "These breaks are great for everyone to relax and recover mentally and physically from the demands of play at this level," said Monica White.  "We are really looking forward to coming back refreshed and continuing the great work that has been going on this season."
