Monica Gonyo

Pre-ECNL and Goalkeeping Director

Gonyo had a distinguished playing career as a youth, collegiate and professional goalkeeper.  As a youth player Gonyo was trained by forrmer FC Wisconsin goalkeeping coach Hideki Nakada, now an assistant coach at Stanford University.  Under his tutelage Gonyo won the 2011 U18 USYS National Championship while being named the "Golden Glove" best goalkeeper in the event. She moved on to Loyola University in Chicago where she set the school's all-time records for career shut-outs, single season goals-against average, and career goals-against average.  After her collegiate career, Gonyo played with the NWSL's Chicago Red Stars, behind Canadian National team legend Karina LeBlanc, and was the starting goalkeeper for the 2015 WPSL National Championship winners.
