Academy Players Staying Connected

Despite not being able to train together during the COVID-19 suspension, the FC Wisconsin Youth Academy players are staying busy.  The coaching staff at FC Wisconsin have been developing and filming two sessions each week to continue to challenge the players technically and help them learn how to train at home.  Youth Academy Director Joana Bromley has also been hosting live Zoom training sessions every Saturday morning.

The Technical Improvement Program (TIP) sessions include a range of activities incorporating dribbling, ball control, and a range of cuts and feints.  Not only are the Youth Academy players participating in these activities, but they are sending in videos of their training sessions to share with their teammates.

The live Youth Academy Zoom training session on Saturday morning includes a bit of footwork and a lot of fun!  (Check out last week's session here!) Players are challenged to complete a series of ball manipulation activities while jamming to some tunes. Coach Joana demonstrates each activity live and provides feedback while athletes try the activities at home. Each session always ends with a little dance off and a lot of laughter - even when the sport is stopped, our players can keep having fun and keep getting better!
